The Allegheny Synod Women's Organization will be holding it's annual convention at Zion Lutheran in Hollidaysburg on Saturday, April 6, 2019. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All women are invited to attend. Pastor Nancy Hoover will preach at the opening liturgy and serve as chaplain for the event. Pastor Paula Schmitt will preside at the opening liturgy. Bishop Michael Rhyne will bring greetings. Registration information has been mailed to all congregations and women's organization members. The Allegheny Synod along with Portico Benefit Services is sponsoring a free Congregation Administrator Workshop for congregation treasurers, financial secretaries, office managers, and anyone interested in the administration of a congregation. The Workshop will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the Allegheny Synod Office*, 701 Quail Ave., Altoona. Mr. Dennis Yarian, former treasurer of the NWPA Synod and Mrs. Barbara Debski, Portico Benefit Services will provide helpful information and answer questions about best practices for your congregation. The Workshop is free, but we ask you to register. You can register online here or by contacting the Allegheny Synod Office.

The results of the 2018-2019 Allegheny Synod Can Challenge was 37,395 items collected. We realize our total is a little short of our 40,000 goal, but we still had great year and were able to help a lot of people. In fact, over the last 5 years we have collected 222,839!
